Farms in Deer Park

The plain version

Deer Park is a refinery-and-rooftops town, not farm country. The county appraisal district values nine parcels inside the city as farmland: 87.31 acres, about 1.3% of the city’s land. This page shows where they are and what the record says each one is used for.

The record names one use for each parcel, in the appraisal district’s own words: pasture, hay, or tree nursery. Pasture is grazing land for livestock, hay is feed for livestock, and a tree nursery grows trees and plants, not food. The record says what a parcel is valued for. It does not measure what the land grows.

The parcels are labeled A through I. Owners are not named on this page.

What the record assumes it produces

Farmland in Texas is appraised on what it could earn from farming, not on what it would sell for. Working that back with the state’s 2025 rate gives about $4,300 a year of farm income across all nine parcels. This is the farm income the appraisal assumes, not what the land actually grows or earns. [P]
